Criterion was foaled in 1961 at Frances Bryant's Meeting Waters Farm in Vermont. she planned for him to be her future herd sire, but with advancing age she dispersed her herd and sold Criterion to Shannon and Susan Hanley of the Quietude Stud in Hillsboro, WV. Under their ownership Criterion was destined to become the greatest Lambert sire since his renowned grandfather Jubilee King. Siring a total of 71 foals, Criterion is the father or grandfather of no less than 96% of all clean-blooded Lamberts living today. He passed away on May 30th at the age of 34.
